US coal carloads rise 4.9% on week, UP jumps 11% on year: AA R

US coal carload originations totaled 87,890 carloads for theweek ended September 26, up 4.9% from the prior week, data fromthe American Association of Railroads showed Wednesday.Carloads also rose 4.1% from the year-ago week, the first rise in sixweeks and the largest jump since the week ended May 12, up 9.9%.From the five-year average of 101,314 carloads dropped 13.3%, thesmallest drop since the week ended August 18 down 12.8%.
