The NYMEX August natural gas futures contract fell Tuesday,down 1.90 cents to settle at $2.740/MMBtu, as power burn backed offfrom a year-to-date high and dry production decreased day on day.The front-month contract traded Tuesday between $2.731/MMBtuand $2.788/MMBtu.US demand fell 2.6 Bcf/d to 71.6 Bcf/d, led almost entirely by thedecrease in power burn of 2.5 Bcf/d on the day, according to S&P GlobalPlatts Analytics.
