East Kentucky Power Co-Op signs Q1 coal supply deal with alliance

East Kentucky Power Cooperative bought 225,000 st of barge coal from Alliance worth over $7.31 million, or $32.50/st, according to a regulatory filing. The Winchester, Kentucky-based utility told the Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) it bought 225,000 st of 11,500 Btu/lb coal from the producer, for a base price of 141.3 cents/MMBtu, or $32.50/st. The coal will come from Alliance’s River View underground mine in Union County, Kentucky.
