NYMEX April gas posts lowest front-month expiry since July 1995

The NYMEX April natural gas futures contract dipped slightly Friday, rolling off the board as the front-month contract at the prompt- month expiration in more than 25 years. The April contract slipped 0.3 cent day on day, expiring at $1.634/MMBtu after tracking below the $1.70/MMBtu level for eight straight trading sessions. The last time a front-month contract expired at a lower level was on July 27, 1995, when the prompt contract rolled off the board at $1.49/MMBtu.
