A bid for Northern Appalachia export coal out of Baltimore continued in Wednesday’s US over-the-counter thermal coal market, while an offer for Illinois Basin export coal out of New Orleans was also reported. A broker reported a bid for the fourth straight session at $62/mt FOB Baltimore for 6,900 kcal/kg coal for a February loading date. The last trades out of Baltimore were reported on January 15, as three deals were heard for Northern Appalachia export coal that went into the Indian market.
