Seven laden coal ships departed from Baltimore in the week ended March 8, up from five a week earlier, according to cFlow, S&P Global Platts trade-flow software. The total tonnage of the departures was 474,955 dwt, up from 421,727 dwt in the prior week, according to the data. Three of the departures stayed in North America, with one that arrived in Cristobal, Panama, on March 8; one expected to arrive in Rio Haina, Dominican Republic, on March 10; and one in Houston on March 13. Three are headed to Europe, with one ship expected to arrive in Antwerp, Belgium, on March 13, one to Bremerhaven, Germany, on March 16 and one to Iskenderun, Turkey, on March 25. The last coal carrier is scheduled to reach the Port of Ceuta on March 19.
