EUA prices may see 55% climb by 2030 on back of EC proposed climate targets: Refinitiv

London—EU Allowance prices could increase 55% by 2030 as the European Commission targets an increased 2030 emissions reduction of at least 55% compared with 1990 levels, in line with the aim of making the EU climate neutral by 2050, an analysis by Refinitiv Carbon Research showed. Refinitiv projects that EUA prices could average Eur31/mt over the period 2021-30 under the higher emissions reduction scenario, 55% higher than previous projections based on the current 40% emissions reduction scenario.
