Bid heard for IB export, domestic markets remain quiet

Houston—A bid was heard for Illinois Basin export coal July 21 in the US over-the-counter thermal coal market, while domestic markets remained quiet. The bid was heard at $39/mt for August loading, following a similar bid reported last week. While an offer was heard last week at $45/mt for IB export, no offers were heard in the market this week so far. S&P Global Platts assessed the FOB NOLA 6,000 kcal/kg market at $41.10/mt based on indicated values of $41/mt and $41.20/mt.
