Weekly US coal train loadings averaged 74.5 trains/day in the week ended February 28, up 1.3 trains/day from the previous week, Surface Transportation Board data showed Monday. From the year-ago week loadings declined 14.2 trains/day. Through the first two months of 2020, weekly loadings averaged 79.3 trains/day. Central Appalachian loadings averaged 13.9 trains/day in the most recent week, a five-week high. Loadings from the basin rose 3.2 trains/day week on week and down 2.7 trains/day from the year-ago week.
