Weekly US coal carrier departures drop 12 to 32 departures: cFlow

Houston—Weekly US coal ship departures totaled 32 in the week ended Aug. 8, down 12 from the previous week, data from cFlow, Platts trade flow software, showed. Compared with the year-ago week, departures were down three. The departing laden and part-laden ships carried almost 2 million dwt, down 24.3% from the week ago. US Gulf Coast departures totaled 17, down five from the previous week’s 23-week high. They increased one year on year. The departing coal carriers held 1.1 million dwt, down 21.4% from the previous week.
