Indonesian thermal coal prices edged lower after demand fundamentals failed to improve and Kalimantan producers reconsidered their plans of increasing production, sources said June 9. A south China-based trader said he heard a trade for a June loading Supramax cargo of the Indonesian 4,200 kcal/kg GAR – or 3,800 kcal/kg NAR – grade coal at $26.75/mt FOB Kalimantan. Indonesia-based producers said they are undecided on an offer price for the above grade, as lack of bids has made it difficult for them to gauge its fair value in the market.
