Indiana Michigan Power and the Sierra Club are quarreling over whether the American Electric Power subsidiary should continue to pay above-market prices for energy and capacity under a long-term contract with Ohio Valley Electric Corp., operator of the Kyger Creek and Clifty Creek coal-fired generation stations totaling nearly 2,200 MW near Cheshire, Ohio, and Madison, Indiana, respectively. I&M is fighting efforts by the environmental group to formally intervene in a fuel-adjustment charge case pending before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
