Kiev—Ukraine’s largest fossil fuel-fired power producer, DTEK, plans to accelerate coal imports within weeks reacting to greater demand, DTEK Energo CEO Dmytro Saharuk said Friday. He made comments shortly after the company received its second shipment of thermal coal from Colombia, which arrived in Pivdennyi near Odessa, delivering 88,000 mt. The first shipment arrived August 13. “Right now, we are ready to increase volumes of imports,” Saharuk said in a statement.
