Bids and offers for Powder River Basin coal and Central Appalachia rail (CSX) coal were heard in Wednesday’s US over-the- counter thermal coal market, but no trades were reported. A broker reported an offer Wednesday morning of 12,500 Btu/lb CSX coal for June delivery at $67/st. It was the first offer heard for prompt-month CSX coal since May-delivered CSX coal was offered at $64.50/st April 22.
