Chinese oil and gas company breaks ground on MTO complex

Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group (Yan’an, China) has broken ground on a methanol-to-olefns (MTO) complex at Jingbian, China. According to the group’s plans, the project's major construction items include a 1.8-million metric ton/year methanol production unit, a 600,000-metric ton/year MTO unit, a 300,000-metric ton/ year low-density polyethylene plant, an integrated ethylene-vinyl acetate/polyvinyl acetate plant, and a 300,000-metric ton/year polypropylene plant.
