ACC's specialty chemicals index rises by 1.7% YyOYy in March

ACC’s specialty chemicals index (SCI) rose by 1.7% year-over-year (YOY) in March. The SCI data are reported on a three-month moving average (3MMA) basis. Of the 28 specialty chemical segments monitored by ACC, 19 rose YOY in March while 2 were flat and 7 declined. Large gains were made by adhesives and sealants, which rose by 7.5% YOY, and by mining chemicals, up 5.6% YOY. Moderate improvements were recorded by paint additives, up 4.6% YOY, corrosion inhibitors, up 4.3% YOY, and oilfield chemicals, up 3.5% YOY.
