Lonza posts jump in sales, proft, in 2016

Lonza (Basel, Switzerland) has announced sales of 4.13 billion Swiss francs ($4.14 billion) in full-year 2016, an increase of 8.7% year over year (YOY), or 8.2% YOY at constant exchange rates. Core EBIT was SF651 million, up 24.2% in reported currency. The improvements were particularly driven by strong operational execution in the Pharma&Biotech segment, which saw sales grow by 15.9% to SF1.85 billion in the year, leading to a substantially higher core EBIT of SF 400 million, up 40.8% YOY.
