Judge orders second shutdown of Mariner East 1 NGL pipeline

An administrative law judge with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) last week forced Sunoco Pipeline to shut down the Mariner East 1 (ME1) natural gas liquids (NGL) pipeline again and additionally to cease construction of a segment of the Mariner East 2 (ME2) and 2X (ME2X) pipeline projects. In a 26-page order dated 21 May, Administrative Law Judge Elizabeth Barnes granted an emergency request from state Senator Andrew Dinniman, who sought to shut down all Mariner East-related activities in West Whiteland Township.
