Ineos’s profits rise on solid North American markets

Ineos reports a 7% increase in second-quarter EBITDA, to €683 million ($795.7 million) from €638 million in the year-earlier quarter, basedon unaudited information. The company says that North American markets were solid, taking full benefit from their current petrochemical feedstock advantage. Market conditions in Europe remained strong, and markets in Asia saw some strength in the quarter, the company says. Ineos's olefins & polymers (O&P) North America business reported an increase of 8.8% in EBITDA to €247 million.
