Natgasoline begins commercial production of methanol

OCI (Geleen, Netherlands) and Consolidated Energy Limited (CEL) say Natgasoline, their 1.8 million metric tons/year (MMt/y) joint-venture methanol project at Beaumont, Texas, has begun commercial produc- tion. OCI announced the project in November 2013. In April 2016, CEL, which is jointly owned by the Proman Group (Wollerau, Switzerland) and Helm (Hamburg, Germany), took a 50% stake in Natgasoline for $680 million. CEL owns Methanol Holdings Trinidad Ltd.
