Chemours, Arkema enter distribution agreement for HFO-based refrigerant

Chemours said Wednesday that it has signed an agreement that will allow Arkema to distribute its hydrofuoroolefin (HFO)-based refriger- ant, XP40, used in commercial refrigeration and chiller applications in the European Union. The refrigerant has a low-global-warming potential (GWP) to meet the F-gas Regulation in the region, according to Chemours. The F-gas Regulation limits and/or bans the use of fuori- nated gases, which typically have a relatively high GWP and can stay in the atmosphere for decades if released.
