Saudi Aramco, SABIC award crude oil–to–chemicals contract to Wood Group

Saudi Aramco and SABIC have awarded a contract to Wood Group (Aberdeen, United Kingdom) for their $20-billion, fully integrated, crude oil–to–chemicals (COTC) complex in Saudi Arabia. Wood will be responsible for project management and front-end engineering design (FEED). The contract follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding in November 2017 between Aramco and SABIC to move to the next stage with the development of the mega project. Under the terms of the contract, Wood will finalize the project’s scope, assist with the selection of technology providers, and give an update on the project’s economics as well as perform the FEED work.
