PTA drives hike in Indorama Ventures' earnings, sales

Integrated polyester producer Indorama Ventures (Bangkok, Thailand) reports big increases in fourth-quarter earnings and sales. Net profit was 59% higher at $117 million, EBITDA soared 25% to $256 million, and sales were 16% higher at $2.14 billion. The company's feedstock business, including purified terephthalic acid (PTA), was the biggest growth driver. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) revenue grew 12% in the fourth quarter, fiber sales rose 15%, and Indorama's feedstock segment recorded 28% revenue growth. Core PET EBITDA increased 4%, fibers EBITDA rose 1%, and feedstock EBITDA jumped 85%.
