Bluestar Adisseo plans $490-million methionine plant in China

Bluestar Adisseo (Antony, France), a subsidiary of ChemChina (Beijing), says it will build a new liquid methionine plant at Nanjing, China, at a cost of approximately $490 million. This will be the company’s third such facility in addition to similar units at Burgos, Spain; and Nanjing. The new unit will be built at the Nanjing Liuhe Chemical Park, close to the company’s existing plant to maximize synergies. It will be designed to produce 180,000 metric tons/year of liquid methionine and will start production in mid-2021.
