Sabic and Aramco to decide on COTC project in second quarter

Sabic and Saudi Aramco expect to announce in the second quarter whether they will proceed with plans to build a crude- oil–to–chemicals (COTC) complex, Sabic CEO Yousef al-Benyan told Bloomberg on Thursday. The two companies agreed in 2016 to study the project as a joint venture after deciding to combine their separate research eforts. Sabic is in the process of being acquired by Aramco, with completion anticipated in the frst half of this year.
