Univar closes sale of pest management business to private equity

Univar said today that it has completed the sale of its environmental sciences unit, a pest management business, to private equity frm AEA Investors (New York, New York), for $195 million. The deal was announced in December. Univar plans to use proceeds from the transaction to pay down the debt balance on the company's existing term loan. The environmental sciences business has about 250 employees and operations in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
