N.America chemical rail up 2.9% YOY

Chemical railcar traffic in North America continued to strengthen during the week ended 14 November,according to data released by the Association of American Railroads(AAR).On a four-week basis,volume increased 1.3% from 2019 and declined 4.3% from 2018(chart),up from a respective gain of 0.4% and decline of 4.4% for the period ending 7 November.For the year to date,chemical railcar traffic in North America was down 3.7% from 2019 and down 5.4% from 2018,versus respective declines of 3.8% and 5.5% through the previous week.Volume during the week totaled 44,572 carloads,up 2.9% year over year(YOY)and up 1.2% sequentially.
