Clariant licenses cellulosic ethanol technology to JV in China

Clariant says it has signed an agreement with Anhui Guozhen Group (Anhui, China), an energy company, and Chemtex Chemical Engineering (Wilmington, North Carolina) for the companies to license its sunliquid cellulosic ethanol technology. The Anhui Guozhen Group and Chemtex have formed a joint venture (JV) to produce cellulosic ethanol from agricultural residues, with the JV to build and operate a production facility at a greenfeld site at Fuyang city in Anhui Province.
