CPChem pushes US Gulf Coast cracker FID into 2020

Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) expects to decide whether to build another ethane cracker on the US Gulf Coast in 2020, according to Greg Garland, CEO of Phillips 66. Speaking Wednesday during the Phillips 66 annual meeting, Garland said the outlook for the project is bright. CPChem, a 50/50 joint venture between Phillips 66 and Chevron, previously put a fnal investment decision (FID) on the project in late 2019. The company has spent $200 million so far on pre-engineering work and permitting for this project.
