Uzbekistan to build petchems complex based on MTO plant

Uzbekistan’s ministry of energy and a group of investors including Uzbekneftegaz (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), Uzkimyosanoat (Tashkent), Air Products, and Enter Engineering (Tashkent) have agreed to build a petrochemical complex based on methanol-to-olefns (MTO) technology. The plant will use domestic gas supplies to make chemical products to diversify the Uzbekistan economy and reduce imports, according to the ministry.
