AmSty using chemically recycled PS as feedstock in styrene plant

Americas Styrenics (AmSty) says it is using chemically recycled polystyrene (PS) as feedstock for the company’s styrene plant at St. James, Louisiana. The recycled styrene has been converted from waste by Agilyx (Tigard, Oregon), with AmSty saying this is the “frst time a plastics producer has successfully produced high-purity ASTM styrene from polystyrene waste.”
