Trinseo said today that it plans to build a pilot facility to produce thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) at Hsinchu, Taiwan. The facility will serve customers in the automotive, consumer electronics, footwear, and medical markets. It will be built at Trinseo’s existing manufacturing site with operations slated to begin in 2020. The investment is the next step in Trinseo’s TPE growth roadmap following the acquisition of Italy- based API in July 2017.
