DuPont to sell SiC business to SK Siltron

DuPont announced today that its DuPont Electronics & Imaging (E&I) business has agreed to sell its Compound Semiconductor Solutions (CSS) business to silicon wafer supplier SK Siltron (Seoul, South Korea) for $450 million. “The DuPont CSS business has state-of-the-art technologies for SiC [silicon carbide] wafer production to serve the power electronics market, but it is not a strategic priority for the E&I business,” said Jon Kemp, president, DuPont Electronics & Imaging.
