Russian investors plan large-scale methanol plant on Baltic coast

Several deals were signed this week at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIF 2019) in Russia, including plans to build a world-scale methanol plant at Ust Luga on the country’s Baltic Sea coast. Maire Tecnimont signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Gazprombank (Moscow, Russia) covering fnancing and implementation of potential oil, gas, and petrochemical projects in Russia and the CIS. The agreement provides opportunities for Gazprombank to participate in fnancing Maire Tecnimont clients’ projects, particularly in purchasing Russian industrial equipment.
