Sibur looks to almost double size of Amur petchem project, expand feedstock deal with Gazprom

Now that construction and pre-commissioning work on Sibur’s fagship $9.5-billion ZapSibNeftekhim (ZapSib) petrochemical complex at Tobolsk has been completed, the company, Russia’s largest petchem player, is concentrating on its next multibillion- dollar project. The confguration of its planned Amur gas-chemical complex in the Russian Far East is expected to be modifed to make the project’s steam cracker and polyethylene (PE) facilities larger than originally planned, and add a polypropylene (PP) unit.
