Methanex selects Johnson Matthey tech for Geismar methanol plant

Johnson Matthey says it has been awarded a contract to provide technology for Methanex’s previously announced methanol plant at Geismar, Louisiana. The plant will incorporate the world’s largest standalone autothermal reformer (ATR) process. Construction on the $1.3–1.4 billion plant will begin later this year with operations targeted for the second half of 2022.
