Titanium dioxide markets digest slowdown in China; tight markets likely to continue to 2018

A rapidly developing world uses several titanium materials, of which titanium dioxide (TiO2) is the most important. TiO2 has excellent light-scattering properties and is used as a pigment in a variety of applications that require white opacity and brightness, including paints & coatings, plastics, paper, leather, textiles, personal care etc. As a nanomaterial TiO2 appears transparent whilst still providing UV light absorption and can be used to decompose environmental pollutants. It is also used as catalyst support in exhaust systems in cars, trucks and power plants, amongst several other applications.
