Nirma said to be eyeing US-based soda ash producer

Nirma has reportedly emerged as a key contender for Tronox Alkali in Green River, Wyoming, the fourth largest producer of soda ash in the world, for $1.5-2-bn. A report in the Economic Times newspaper quoted an unnamed source as saying that Nirma had made a binding offer after detailed diligence and is the only Indian company in the fray. If successful, this will be the largest in the history of the 48-year-old company.
