RIL posts higher Q1 net profit

Inching towards the Rs. 10,000-crore mark, oil-to-telecom behemoth Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) posted 3.85% rise in profit at Rs. 9,459-crore for the first quarter ended June, boosted by higher realisations from the refining and petrochemical businesses. It had posted a net profit of Rs. 9,108-crore in the corresponding quarter last year, including a Rs. 1,087-crore profit from a stake divestment in Gulf Africa Petroleum Corp.
