BEE and CPWD sign MoU on promoting energy efficiency in buildings

The Bureau of Energy Efficiency(BEE),a statutory body under Ministry of Power,and the Central Public Works Department(CPWD),a premier construction agency of the Government of India,signed MoU in New Delhi on January 10,kick-starting cooperation in building energy efficiency.According to the MoU,BEE and CPWD will cooperate on promoting: 1.Design and construction of Energy Conservation Building Code(ECBC)compliant new buildings;2.'Star rating’of CPWD managed buildings across the country with no registration or renewal fee.
