Expenditure by government in research and development (R&D) should be assessed for its effective utilisation as well as the outcome milestones, Dr. K. Vijayraghavan, Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India, has said. Speaking at the inaugural session of the 'Indian R&D Ecosystem Conclave', he mentioned that the Government of India is creating a National Research Foundation (NRF) to infuse more funds into the national R&D system.
