IUPAC International Congress of Crop Protection Chemistry showcases latest scientific developments

The’14th IUPAC International Congress of Crop Protection Chemistry’was hosted by Ghent University during May 19-24,2019 in Ghent,Belgium.The Congress,held every four years,is the premium forum for international exchange of scientific information and to discuss emerging issues of global significance in crop protection since 1967.The 2019 Congress,on the theme’Crop Protection: Education of the Future Generation’was attended by more than 1,500 delegates including experts from industry and policymakers.The Congress featured ten major themes: 1.Emerging issues and challenges;2.Novel agricultural technologies;3.Discovery and optimisation of crop protection products;4.Formulation and application technologies;5.Non-dietary human health hazard,exposure and risk;6.Food quality and safety;7.Environmental fate,transport and metabolism;8.Ecosystem and ecological risk assessment;9.Mode of action and resistance;and 10.Stewardship,regulation and communication.
