Chandra Asri expands ethylene capacity, awards contract to CB&I

Chandra Asri (Jakarta, Indonesia) has awarded a naphtha cracker revamp contract to CB&I. The contract covers the restoration of existing furnaces of the cracker at Cilegon, Indonesia, with work scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2018. The revamp, which is projected to be completed in the third quarter of 2020, will increase the cracker's ethylene capacity from 860,000 metric tons/year to 900,000 metric tons/year; propylene from 470,000 metric tons/year to 490,000 metric tons/year; pyrolysis gasoline from 400,000 metric tons/year to 430,000 metric tons/year; and mixed C4s from 315,000 metric tons/year to 330,000 metric tons/year.
