MFG Chemical expands Texas facilities

MFG Chemical is planning to expand its facilities at Pasadena, Texas, including a debottlenecking and two new reactors, to meet growing customer demand. The expansions, which are expected to come onstream during the first quarter of 2019, will entail an investment of about $5-8 million. MFG, which derivatizes maleic anhydride (MA), acquired the site, the former Gulf Bayport Chemical, in March. The company says the expansion makes it one of the largest consumers of MA in the United States.
