Reliance plans $700-million expansion of Dahej petchem site

Reliance Industries, in an application to India's environment ministry, has proposed plans to expand and debottleneck the company's Dahej Manufacturing Division (DMD) site at Dahej, India. The company intends to establish new plants and facilities to make products including ethylene dichloride (EDC), cyclohexaned-imethanol (CHDM), and polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified (PETG). The company will also build an incinerator at a vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) unit, a facility to separate hydrogen as a by-product of a chlor-alkali plant, and a carbon dioxide recovery unit at an ethylene oxide-ethylene glycol (EO-EG) unit. These plants will be located within the existing premises of DMD.
