The loss of still more jobs at the fewremaining plywood mills and in the woods further aggravated the sense of longing and nostalgia for the old days when timber towns hummed with round-the-clock sawmills and the rumble of loaded log trucks. But a renaissance of renewal is growing, quietly bringing workers back to the woods, only this time to leave the land better off than before.
