Acute Hemo dynamic Collapse After Induction of General Anesthesia for Emergent Pulmonary Embolectomy

Rosenberger et al. reported their institutional experience of he-modynamic deterioration after induction of anesthesia for emergent pulmonary embolectomy. We believe that stronger consideration should be given to using femoro-femoral cardiopulmonary bypass prior to inducing anesthesia in patients with severe right ventricular dysfunction. The femoral vessels can be readily identified and can-nulated under local anesthesia, and the procedure is well tolerated .
