摘要

Whether the U.S. trend to eliminate or reduce carbohydrates is over depends on whom you ask. What is not disputed is low-carbohydrate diets are mostly not popular in other parts of the world, which is good news for U.S. rice producers and marketers. The main effect low-carbohydrate eating methods had on their businesses, they say, was to increase the popularity of different rice varieties. The 2005-2006 growing season is expected to be a record-setter at more than 278 million hundredweight, according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Economic Research Service (ERS), Washington, D.C.
