Systematic reviews and the Three Rs

Replacement, Reduction, Refinement - the 3Rs - are the leading principles in Laboratory Animal Science (LAS) for a scientifically and ethically sound use of animals in research. Although the implementation of 3Rs methodologies in research is obligatory according to the new EU Directive 2010/63, the search for relevant 3Rs methods and eventually their implementation can be very challenging. The Systematic Review (SR) approach may be part of the solution here.
