The use of multiple species and models at MRC NIMH: Care and welfare implications

The Division of Biological Services at MRC NIMR caters for research covering a broad spectrum of basic biomeical science requiring a diversity of animal species and models. To ensure full implementation of best practice and the 3Rs, each model requires specific attention to care and welfare requirements. This poster describes some examples and implications of models used at NIMR, with emphasis on 3Rs initiatives that have identified particular welfare or husbandry needs and have benefited the science.
